We have built the BI-LO website to be accessible to everybody, no matter how they are browsing the Internet. During the development of this site, we focused on:
We built the site using valid HTML 4.01 Strict and CSS. Regardless of the web browser, computer platform and device, the site should work fine, though it may look different for different users. All pages comply with the top-priority W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and are Section 508 approved, which means they comply with the U.S. Federal Government Section 508 Guidelines — supporting usage by users with disabilities.
All pages use breadcrumbs to help with navigation in text-only browsers and screen readers. Each page also has a search box.
The text size can be resized in any browser to make it easy to read for any user.
All images in the site include a descriptive ALT attribute to explain the content in case images don't display or for people using screen readers.
