BI-LO sponsors a 10-week, full-time, paid summer internship and a two-summer, 20-week co-op program that gives diverse college and university students exposure to a wide range of career opportunities in the retail grocery industry.

Positions include internships in our customer support center as well as co-op positions in BI-LO stores. Modeling the BI-LO School of Business Management Training Program, the BI-LO diversity internship and co-op program is one of the few in the country that allows students to perform hands-on work to develop practical business experience and learn about the many facets of the retail grocery business. Students gain a full understanding of the industry and can develop an action plan on how to pursue a career in the industry or other types of businesses after graduation.

Our student participants

BI-LO values and promotes diversity within our organization and industry. We work closely with the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) schools and other institutions to attract high-caliber and diverse students as participants in our program.

The program accepts three interns and as many as 12 co-op students each program year. A number our past participants have gone on to become BI-LO store co-managers.
