SAVE ON SUMMER TRAVEL WITH BI-LO’S FUELPERKS! PROGRAM

GREENVILLE, S.C. (June 25, 2012) — According to travel industry experts, more Americans will hit the road this summer for vacation, but they are traveling on a tighter budget. AAA projects 42.3 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home during the Independence Day holiday weekend, a 4.9 percent increase over the 40.3 million people who traveled last year. Despite increased travel and improvements in the economy, travel industry leaders expect savings to remain a top priority with median holiday travel spending down seven percent compared to last year, now an estimated $749 according to AAA. As families seek value during peak vacation season, BI-LO wants them to know the stores are a resource to help make summer travel affordable with savings on groceries and gas through its exclusive fuelperks!® Program.

Since BI-LO launched its fuelperks! Program in 2008, the company has helped save customers more than $129 million in fuel. Participation in the exclusive savings program is on the rise as more than 42,000 households have joined this year, in addition to more than 725,000 households already taking advantage of fuelperks! Rewards.

Earning and redeeming fuelperks! Rewards is easy. BI-LO shoppers can sign up for a BI-LO BONUSCARD® free at any BI-LO customer service counter. Customers who use their BI-LO BONUSCARD when they shop save on thousands of BONUSCARD deals every week and automatically get five cents off per gallon for every $50 spent on groceries.

BI-LO customers simply do their normal grocery shopping and fuelperks! Rewards add up with every purchase. Shoppers do not have to spend a certain amount per visit to earn rewards; rewards can be earned in multiple visits and they are recorded at the bottom of every receipt. The reward is good during the month that it is earned, plus three months, so when shoppers are ready to fill up, fuelperks! will be there. Shoppers who use their BI-LO BONUSCARD can save even more on gas by looking for signs in the store indicating items that earn extra savings or by checking the BI-LO ad.

Customers can redeem fuelperks! Rewards by simply inserting their BI-LO BONUSCARD in the card reader at any participating gas station. The price per gallon on all grades of fuel automatically rolls down by the amount of fuelperks! Rewards earned, up to 20 gallons per purchase, per vehicle.
